I've had to dig holes for a few that did not make the call. After spending time caring and feeding and mending and all it is sometimes hard to see them go. But it makes the successes more grand.

I'm sorry to hear she didn't make it - we were all hoping for a miracle!

It is extra hard, I think, to lose a baby animal you've been nursing for days - had a kitten one time I was bottle raising that I watched slowly decline like your chick and it was heartwrenching.

Life can just be too much for little ones sometimes...

Sorry to hear she passed. I've been watching this thread, hoping for good news. Not a happy birthday present for you...but it must have been in the plan for this little one to not make it. She sure was a cutie!

Don, I'm sorry about the little one. And you should feel something for a chick's passing after caring for it the way you have. Anyone who does not have empathy for their birds should not be raising them.
