I want to get just a few chickens but all of the hatcheries that allow for small orders are booked until JUNE or JULY for small orders. Also, I want true leghorns and the only white egg layers being sold at the local F&G store are ideal's 236 which are a hybrid and won't breed true. My TSC is only selling brown egg layers and my hubby won't eat colored eggs.
I want to get my chickens ASAP but that means that I need to go to a hatchery that has a larger minimal order like McMurray or one just as big. I've had good dealings with MM before but I just don't want to order 25, rather I'd like to get 10 (6 LH and 4 silkies). So if anyone in the area is looking to just get about 15 this would be helpful for both of us. So, any takers?
