okay thank you so much, i emailed the breeder to see. I was so worried because these are my brother's birds and he loves his cockerel but we don't keep non BQ roosters.

Is this a side sprig? I got this Barnevelder cockerel from another breeder a week ago. He's about 4 months old.

I'm saving Jack for you! He's from my Johan Hen & KC/Mo (vb, Ledford, whatever) roo. I tried to talk Shelley into bringing him up to you. I'll get pics of his comb asap.

Back to Orp combs... I have a black/lavender split cockerel with 4 distinct 'fingers' at the back of his comb. He's leaving the breeding program. (too busy with Barnies & Favs in my tiny space anyway), BUT, Hinkjc... is that from another breed that went into lavender Orpingtons?

eta:

hard to show it, but it's 4 little sprigs off the back of his comb. I suppose he's pet or soup material now =\\ he's starting to fight with his brethren.
