Split Wing in Silkie Chicks

I was reading up on the Standard of Perfection for Silkies and came across this: http://www.hattricksilkies.net/articles_split_wing.html

About half of my week-old Silkie chicks seem to have split wings. Is this something (like the crest) that will change as the bird ages, or will the wings likely stay that way? Does anyone cull for this in chicks??

I've had chicks that look like they had split wing, but on all of them it was just the way the feathers were coming in at the time.

Wait until they are fully filled in.

I've never had Silkies [& never will] but I suspect that a week old is a bit young to cull for split wings.
