Our Wyandotte pullets have started laying their first eggs
We decided to go the European way and store eggs on the counter (unwashed of course!)
I have noticed after a few days, the egg will become splotchy looking, it looks like it is going on inside of the egg and not on the surface. The eggs do not look like this when I collect them, they are one solid color.
What is going on? Is this normal? These girls have free choice oyster shells, are on organic layer feed, and get veggie scraps often. Like I said, these are their first eggs, they have been laying for about 2 weeks now. They are fertilized eggs, there is a rooster in their pen.
