If you want to save yourself a bunch of money, buy 50lb bags of millet at the feed store! I pay $16. But I think it only has 11% protein, and thus it will dilute out your protein load of your chick feed. So it would just be for treats unless you mix your own feed like me.
Chicks should be on 20% protein, grower feed is 17%, and layer feed is 16%. A lot of people feed even more protein, I have been reading lately on here.
