Do you know what breed the one in your first picture is? Three of mine are "mystery chicks" from the McMurray Rainbow bin, and two of the three look like the one in your avatar-- chipmunk stripes, but gray/black instead of brown. I'd love to know what they are before they're old enough for the chicken identification thread!
Well the one in my avatar is now 4 weeks old and was supposed to be an araucana but found out itwas an easter egger. Mine didn't have the green legs orbeard but nonetheless is an easter egger and a roo at that. The second one here I just got and is a silver spangled hamburg. And the other one is an easter egger.
my chicks are now a month old and I moved them into a bigger brooder a few weeks ago. Dh and I have started to build a chicken tractor for them to be in. We are almost done we just need to get the wire sides and floor put on. We were hoping to finish it last night be we had rain and high winds come back threw. And tomorrow he starts his new job and they are talking about more rain and for this weekend. If I hold off for a bit I might be able to get it started at least. He has even put it on wheels so i can move it a lot easier. I am thinking of putting on 2 handles to make it even easier for me and my girls to move it. I will post pic in a second i have to get my phone. They are doing fine in their brooder but I am sure they will be happy to be outside. I have EE's brown and whites, RIR X wellsummer love their colores. I got 2 roos out of the 11 eggs i hatched. And they are from the half RIR and Half welsummer I was hoping for that. The others are like I said EE, and them 1 that is Half welsummer and half Barred rock I lost the other one of that breed. And I have a silkie that is not from my hatch but from a friends and was hatched the same day as mine he or she is in there with them. The LF take really good care of the barred rock Welsummer and the silkie. looking forward to letting them play outside during the day I know they will love it.
