I am redoing my coops. I am NOT sure how I am though. I like my chainlink, that's staying. I am not sure if I want to close the back wall off with plywood or leave it open. Should I close in the front and the back? What about the roof? I was thinking tin for it with a section that is fenced so they still get sunshine. All opinions please. They use dog houses as coops and I like that since we have weather that is hot year round so all they need is shade.

(Excuse the mess, we are cleaning the whole yard and the hay was so they had something to scratch in besides dirt.

This is pen that is 10 deep x6 wide It will be used for cochins. What do you think a comfortable number to be held is? Right now it holds 3. 2 hens 1 roo.

This one was holding the cochins but is being done over for the silkies. I want it to look less white trashish

I love the phrase "white trashish"!! I told my husband after I cleared the tools from the backyard (including the table saw & sliding compound miter saw) that the backyard looked a little less like white trash--too funny!

In the pics it looks really bad because there was stuff in the coop that normally isn't. The doghouse was seperated bc a rooster in spring time is antsy with his girls and they have a short place to get away to. The flower pot used to sit on the nest box but was thrown down by the roo. The bowl is from feeding them. And those 2 wood things that are from the building support the sun pen for the pigeons.
