Yesterday only one pair of wild Mallards were swimming in our semi-natural pool…
Today there were four, two pairs:

That means: Spring can't be too far away! Mallards know…

It never left us down here in the valley but that's the joys of being South Texan. But I so hope you get your early spring so all of these raptors that visit overwinter can move on I have had quite a few chick losses this winter.

I'm hoping for early Spring too Hillbilly!! I think I may have seen a robin the other day...I was driving so I can't be 100% sure, but I think I saw an orange breast!
That's how they've always judged Spring in my area...but then there's always the dreaded "May 10th cold spell" to keep any Summer fever at bay!

You hear this saying for those who live in the south Thunder in Feb, Frost in May? We'll we're going to be having thunder this week. But we most always have frost in May anyway. lol
This has surely been a weird winter but evidently we've had many like this according to the weatherman. We just forget.
No snow to amount to any thing this winter and 63* yesterday 60's through Thursday with storms. Sure wish we could send some of this rain over to Australia.

Got to see some Canada geese flying over a couple days ago and crows are flying around again!

Oh yes! The crows are back here too! And they went straight back to work harassing the BoPs out of the valley.

No signs of spring here, but I’m not expecting any for a while .
However, if anyone wants to direct some Mallards, Robins, or Canada Geese my way, I’d appreciate it! Daphne eagerly looks forward to the arrival of the Mallards, especially those dashingly handsome drakes!
