"Springing in the Chicks" 2016 April Hatch-a-Long Hosted by Mike & Sally

Help! My friend gave me a dozen eggs and I want to put them in today, but one of them is really dirty/poopie. I got as much off as I can by just brushing it, but it is still really bad. I don't want to not put it in because I only have a dozen eggs, but I also don't want it to compromise the others. Can I wash it? Should I wash just this one?

Do you have a pic of it?

My first batch in my new Brinsea are starting to hatch. They aren't due till tomorrow and 2 are out already. I have 15 egg set. I cleaned the Hovobator and am waiting for things to stabilize and I'll be setting more eggs in it soon. What I'm hatching are English orps and paint silkies.
Congratulations! Good luck with the rest of your hatch!

day 5, same egg as day 3 picture. And I got movement on video!
Nice! How cool.

We gifted the chicks from our last hatch to a family friend, they in return sent us 24 eggs to incubate, but I can't because the brinsea is full of serama eggs! So the only thing to do is go out and buy another incubator tomorrow!!!! I was just waiting for an excuse to do so! I might also pick up a silkie chick or two!

YES! You need to buy another incubator!

I have lots of eggs hatching in April....

Two batches of duck eggs...

Serama eggs in the incubator and under a few hens...

and emu eggs that should hatch in April if they are going to do anything.

And hopefully my Silkies will start laying so I can set all their eggs! Any day now, I'm sure.

Awesome! I hope those Emu eggs hatch! Sally! More Emu Eggs!!!!!

I see Chaos gave you the link to the info in the article. I sent Sally some eggs and gently cleaned them with "MannPro Wipe 'N Wash Egg Cleansing Towelettes". All the eggs are developing, but we haven't hit hatch day yet.
