"Springing in the Chicks" 2016 April Hatch-a-Long Hosted by Mike & Sally

Ah, OK. Do they taste like popcorn?
Mostly like chicken

Can I keep it in my oven?

Sounds easier to just cook the duck

Geese are scary. You can keep them in your oven for sure.

(Ducks)
Maybe, but you have to pluck 'em first. Sounds messy to me. (plus they're too darn adorable, waddling around and quacking)

Wow so much happening here in the past few days! I hope I can get caught up today

I just set another 11 shipped black/lavender split bantam Cochins last night in the Brinsea...

We ended up with 13 Marans total from my flock. The power outage eggs all hatched and the stuck zipper during the outage is also healthy and doing great

I got 10 blue coppers, 2 splashes and 1 black!
I caught most of them at snack time :)

I just received 7 self blue bantam Cochins in the mail today from Ideal. (I was curious to know their quality)... And I'm completely freaking out! I knew they sent extras for warmth but holy $&@!
They sent me 16 barred rock packing peanuts!!!!!

Holy cow! That's a lot of extras. If I ever do order online (and have lots of spare space), I know who I'll order from.
eggs arrived today. Tried candling them but either I am blind or there is no air cell
If they were shipped, try again after you let them sit for 24 hours. I've seen that before with some of my shipped eggs.

4" zip ties work great for new hatches. Just be prepared to change them out often because you have to close them up pretty good to keep them from slipping off early on, and the chick's legs grow fast.
