I turned off the bator for a second to candle. It was bedlam!



Then they settled down.



13 or 14. They're hard to count. I have 3 internal pips left on 5 eggs. It's still day 21 until after supper.

No more shipped eggs, out of my dozen I have 4 viable eggs. 5 were clear and 3 quit. I cannot spend $55.00 for 4 Amerucana chicks. So disappointed. That is asumming these 4 make it to hatch next week. I never expect them all to make it, but 5 clear??? Ok off my soapbox.

Did you request how you wanted them collected and shipped @kybyxbee ? you are the customer you should request as stated below!

6 little ones hatched perfectly happy and healthy

There's one egg left that hasn't pipped, maybe I'll candle quickly to check for an internal pip when I move the little ones to the brooder tonight.

Super stinky- I just spent a fortune on shipped eggs and had 40% clear and the rest have HUGE saddle air cells. But the reason I buy eggs instead of chicks is because I dont like opening a box of dead chicks and I have gotten chicks with diseases that killed my entire flock so the eggs are much safer

I would hate seeing the dead chicks too. Eggs are safer but 40% clear is crazy.

Only one? How do you know it's accurate? What do you check it against to make sure it's not going wonky?

The air cells, silly! If the air cells are too big or too small, I add more or less water.
