"Springing in the Chicks" 2016 April Hatch-a-Long Hosted by Mike & Sally

Final update on my guinea hatch. Six little peanuts all fuzzy and healthy. Was hoping for a pied bird, but all pearls.

One eggbert that was a quitter. I've left it in the incubator, but no cheeps, movement or pips. I did a water test yesterday and didn't see any movement. I'll test once more today and then chunk it. I've had late hatchers before, but you can usually tell they are good.

On to the May Hatch Along!

Congrats on the hatch.

Come on duckies! Cute chicks you got today.

sorry if you thought I was being mean!  Eggs can get mixed up before leaving a persons or not marked correctly.   I did not know the roo was hatched for a blue egg.   Was just trying to help.   I have seen many EEs colored that way also... so sorry  for offending someone. It wasn't my intention.
I have wheaten Ameraucanas and salmon Faverolle .  knew the color was incorrect..

Sorry, I think mean was the wrong word. I think I just assumed that Tao's initial comment was offended or upset since to me it seemed it a bit so then reading yours i think i interpretted it through the wrong lens of saying it in that sort of the rooster isn't right sort of way but later, after rereading it and seeing taos things amd everything, i realize they weren't offended and your comment was indeed trying to be helpful and nice, especially since you did say he was beautiful, so sorry :( but no one was truly offended, except maybe me assuming people were offended and overreacting lol, so all good :)

I think you were fine, @tao chick
said she was very hard to offend in a later post so no worries!

Definitely not offended. I was upset when the imperfections started coming up with the chickens that hatched from eggs from this particular breeder. I think I have learned my lesson about what questions to ask and really what I want in a flock. I love this rooster regardless of not matching my expectations.
I respect when people step up and point out imperfections in breed standards or flat out misrepresentations of breeds. Misrepresentations happen too often and I am thankful for those that helped me understand it all.
I agree that mix ups happen too. I didn't pursue any argument with the breeder. She moved. I wished her luck. I think she knew she was misrepresenting what she had, but I hold no grudge because I can't be sure it wasn't an honest mix up.
BTW, I love Salmon Faverolles. If I hadn't found Brabanters and Pavlovskayas I probably would have tried to develop a flock myself.

Lol! Awesome!, why did u draw that sign on poor gooserz ? Soooo cute!!
Yay for broody hens!
At least you can look at the positive! :)
pics of pea chicks or it didn't happen

I'm glad no one was offended and it seemed i assumed people were and jumped to defense or whatever where it wasn't needed. Sorry. But anyway, that's unfortunate about the breeder :( your roo still is beautiful though

Three external pips on my broody muscovy.but no progress this morning
AWESOMe

Having a good run of bad luck this incubation. I've had 8 hatch healthy, 1 open abdomen, and 4 more are pipped. 7 more in the bator have done nothing so far. Not a good round considering I started with 30 eggs and only 3 were clears.
