I always wanted two whethers just fer so lmao!!! And then there are those bigger ones cant remember the type, with the real sleek strong look with the roundish spots! but those cost a fortune!

Thanks for the reminder to read all the information again to refresh my memory. Last time the broodies hatched out all their eggs except one, but we didn't have that great of a hatch rate with the extra eggs we threw in the incubator. We did have 3 hatch in the incubator last time, but we didn't educate ourselves beforehand so we made a bunch of mistakes, like washing the eggs and putting them right in the incubator instead of letting them settle for a day or so.

Anyway, I am going to re-read all that information and hopefully we will get more than 3 hatching in the incubator this time! I have 13 eggs to set but I will probably give 3 to my friend who has a broody.

I haven't checked the air cells yet but for sure I will do it tonight & probably put set them tomorrow.

There isn't a "right" answer to this. Some candle all their eggs and mark air cells on each egg. I think it is important for beginner hatchers to candle and learn what they are looking at. To recognize if the egg is developing normal or not. If random spot check candling works for you, I would compare those air cells to what is shown in the hatching 101 article, and adjust humidity accordingly.

I mostly enjoy the goats, and the kids are lots of fun.
Thanks to those who responded. I candled all of them today and removed 7 (upon egtopsy they were all infertile).

I thought it would feel like it was going to take these eggs forever to hatch. Now, after a week, I feel kinda rushed. This is going way faster than I expected.
