Hey im looking for a confirmation on my lock down. I looked at my calendar and I actually set the eggs on March 31st in the evening. sorry I said the 1st in the last post. So hatch should be the 20th? And lock down should be on the 18th? Right or wrong?

10 day serama egg candle. We are down to 17 eggs with wiggly baby chicks inside. The 18th egg was clear. I marked air cells again. not much change, but I don't know what I should be seeing lol. So here are some pictures. If you could advise on humidity levels I would be so greatfull! Thank you!

The majority are on the smaller or larger size? perhaps run at 40 and recandle day 12, IF the majority are smaller

I have an external pip in the middle of the egg. The beak is out and chirping. I think it is malpostioned because of where it pipped. Midline of egg. I know I should just leave it alone and wait for it to zip. The other two chicks that are hatched do go up and peck at it the hole. Is this normal? How long should I let it be? Til tomorrow morning?

Hi! I just moved 22 eggs to lockdown! 13 Salmon Favorelle and 9 of my own silkies. It's only day 18, but more than half already drew down, but others look like they have a ways to go. I'm leaving for the rest of the day, won't be home till tomorrow night, so thought it was better to move them a day early.

Set 24 eggs on the afternoon of April 1. This is my second try. Hope this does not end up as an April fools hatch..Am looking forward to a great hatch of farm run eggs.

Should be lockdown on 19th.

Hatch on 22nd.

April first would be correct set day.

I put it in the bottom of the little wire crate separator but not up the sides, my bad!!! ughhhhh oh well dont plan on setting ducks again for some time anyways!!
I have eight out and an egg to go yet thats pipped.

And no, that is not a tree farm. It's just we have a lot of pine trees around here, and our back yard neighbors let theirs grow wild instead of cutting them down/tearing them out lol. Luckily we're on a plot that used to be farm land, but the farm went belly up...

Haha no I'm in California. The person selling had Sapphire roosters and Aloha Naked Neck roosters for sale from eggs he hatched. I guess I should say cockerels as they are still pretty young (maybe three months?). I'll look over the link you sent but I might just end up waiting a month after I see him covering a few of the girls to start placing more chicken eggs in the incubator.

So I have a goose egg with an internal pip. I have had bad luck with them so far. How long before they usually hatch.

I am not sure what kind it is. It is either out of my Sebastopols or Africans.

Awesome thank you very much! My first hatch I locked down on there 18th day. on day 19 they hatched. I had my temp set at 100 degrees and have now turned it down to 99.5 was this the right thing to do ?

I have duck eggs pipping! Seramas hatching. Emu eggs wiggling.

And... I got my very first ever Silkie egg! After all my hatching and loosing my first flock to raccoons, I have never gotten an egg before. So exciting

I also scored some Sebastopol goose eggs yesterday so I hope they will develop.

. All my other goose eggs have been a bust.

Oh darn, Sally has no internet. Can anyone else experienced with serama eggs check out my candling photo on the previous page? It's day 10. I need to know if I should adjust my humidity which has been at 55 from day 1.

So my hens have figured it out for me, I will be setting:
7 americauna, 3 Columbian Rocks, 13 EE's, 6 white leghorn, and 9 silkie this evening.
I also have 8 silkie eggs under a broody who started to sit last Tuesday. Hopefully the mild weather holds and she stays put.

This will be my first hatch along though I've read through a lot of old ones that got me hooked! I just hatched out 9 out of 11 chicks from my own mutt flock on March 20th all are doing great. I've just set on the 1st of April some eggs I bought in from a local breeder. I put in 12 black blue splash Ameruacana, and 30 black australorp. I'm pretty darn excited lol thanks for this fun opportunity!

I have 1 pipped turkey egg.

Had a 2 hour power outage today. Hope it didn't mess them up.

Had to work all weekend but got home in time to get my turkey eggs collected. My hens have given me 28 eggs in 3 days. So I should have at least 40 plus when I set on thurs.
