It was, but it had a happy ending. It was one problem in about 35 kiddings, usually they kid really well.Mike that's so scary! We're at the auction dropping off the pygmy doeling. OF COURSE they have about a hundred tiny bottle babies.![]()

set 45 eggs on saturday morning! 5 CCL, 12 BLRW, the rest are english jubilee orps! some of those are a week old, but they went in anyway, we'll see how well they do. Gave them all a vent trim and put my own roo in with them since I know he is fertile....
Should have lots of chicks on the 23rd!!
I also have a pygmy doe due on the 22nd and one due the following week! These will be my first (and theirs!) and I am excited/nervous!!![]()
Thanks for the link to that post. Yes, we are using the term exactly the same.We are using the term the same. By calibration I mean to ensure that it is accurate.
Glad things are off to a good start!Yesterday I candled my first batch of eggs. There were 2 bielefelder eggs that looked clear. I couldn't tell with some of the darker eggs but In all of the other eggs I was able to see some viening and/or movement. Really cool to see the embryo moving! Looked like 22 out of 24 are developing but all eggs are still in the bator in case I am wrong.
I'll have to recheck in the notes but my air cell looked small. (About the size of a quarter) So, I'm going to run it dry for now.
Really excited to have this many eggs looking viable so far!![]()
