"Springing in the Chicks" 2016 April Hatch-a-Long Hosted by Mike & Sally

I think I would be the same and it's totally understandable!!

They are real though!! When you dont get your hopes up in the first place things are so much better, all the more amazing!! I can't wait to see what they are like all fluffed up.

Have a good sleep but try not to dream about them! :gig

I kinda want to take it to bed with me, but I will resist that temptation. After 53 days, I just wanna snuggle that baby... But I'll wait till it's fluffy.

Hi, firedragon... long time no see! Hope all is well with you. Sorry about other special babies... but one is better than none! Congrats on all the ones that hatched!!!   :clap

The Thursday eggs are on a need/know basis, and you don't feel the need for him to know? What he doesn't know can't hurt you kind of thing... right? I completely understand.    :lau

2 months without an incubator??? OMG... I almost went crazy not hearing the hum of my bator for 4 months, but at least it was in my office where I could look at the box and know it was ready at a moment's notice. Poor girl...   :hugs

Well, hello... and welcome to the world!!! I haven't done a readback, but I presume Emu? It's a beaut!!! Congratulations!!!!!    :clap

It is a real live emu! :ya. Thanks!

Everyone have a wonderful day!

I'm off to my herding lessons, I'll catch up with the thread later today!

Hello everybody. I am doing my first hatch using egg weights. I weighed each egg (15 of them) before they went into the incubator & recorded the weights on the eggs & in a notebook. My question is how often do I weigh them? Around what day(s) do I weigh them? How much weight (by %) should they loose?

Thanks! They are Black Penedesenca eggs, if that makes a difference.

Oh, & do you still candle them or don't worry about it?
