Good morning everyone great news here in Ontario Canada 25 chicks in the brooder 4 walking in the bator 1 more working on the egg and 4 eggs still in the bator not sure if they are pipped yet

TJchickens and a few others are much further south than me, and Kathy and Banti and many others are way north!!! So, I'm middle ground!!!

Still no, I called the vet and asked the front desk to have the vet call me. We'll see.
Bout the middle of the state is where I'd be headed if we head out there.

Every one is active and happy seeming I turned the temp down I'm going to see how the ones that are pipped are doing in an hour thank you very much for all your help I'll keep you updated


Sorry I missed your post about opening with pips but looks like Ur gave you some excellent guidance and I'm glad to hear the chicks are doing well

I've had lots of chicks hatch that took some time for their feet to uncurl. It can take days for the ligaments to strengthen. Give it a bit of time. One chick from my last batch had a particularly bad foot, was almost always curled underneath. It straightened out on it's own after a few days. As long as a chick is getting around all right, I don't do anything about it.


Thank you! I left it alone last night and it is already way better this morning. It's "ankles" still seem a little weak and funky, but the feet and toes are NOTHING like last night.
