All 3 of my EE look good, and 1/2 bantam. The 2nd bantam has a blood ring.
1 SLW, all 4 turken, 1 cochin, 1 GLW are clear..... As well as both dark brahma!!! Nooooooo!!

So down to: 3 EE, 1 bantam, (my eggs) 1 cochin, 1 LO, and one GLW. Pretty bad.... Don't think I'll be buying from this person again, unless day 14 reveals otherwise. I left all the clears in, even though some could almost be used as a lantern they are so see-through.

so is mine

@mlm Mike. No, they weren't shipped. Got the eggs from 3 different places, driving distance.
Wish I could blame the bad outcome on some thing else but I'm going to go with too high humidity and temps too low. ( thermometers were calibrated, had 2-3 in bator. Added calibrated hygrometer 1/2 way through.) The power did to out 2x but I don't think that had anything to do with the outcome. I'll try better next time.

Hey (relative) good news! Of the 3 eggs that I just inspected, two didn't even develop! One looked fertile but only for a day, no blood ring, no veins, just a whitish mass. The Easter Egger I was so sad about "dying" WASN'T EVEN FERTILE. I didn't screw it up!!!

(Also I must be really bad at candling... I was sure that sucker had an eye spot.)

But, sadly, the little bantam egger was about 8-9 days old when he left his mortal coil. He was beautiful and perfect. His yolk and veins looked great, no sign of bacterial infection or deformity. Not sure why he quit. Something not detectable to my inexperienced naked eye affected him. (I say "him" to console myself that he was just going to be a pesky rooster I'd have to deal with somehow and nature decided to relieve me of the responsibility.) So, that was sad, but also very cool to see. I buried him deep in the compost.

So yeah, only two other suspected quitters at this stage, but due to their dark shells, I think I'll give them a few more days just to be really sure... And send good vibes the remaining 7 all make it out unscathed!
