springtime post your new chick pics

Every year I raise pheasants to release on our farm (no hunting!) This silkie hen is the foster mom. She was sitting nicely on her (sterile) silkie eggs, so I slipped the dry fluffy just-hatched pheasant chicks under her two at a time. Although you can only see 4, she has 30 chicks under her. It's always funny when the pheasants start flying when they're about 2 weeks old - the chickens just stare and you can hear them thinking, "My baby did that?! What a super mom I am!" By the way, the nest she's sitting in is a bonsai training pot.

2 Silver-laced Wyandottes and 2 Golden-laced wyandottes from mypetchicken.com
Names are Georgia, Rosa, Louise and Frida. (Those familiar with women artists may recognize the names...just add..O'Keefe, Bonheur, Nevelson, and Kahlo.)

Had an accidental overdose of Chicken Meth...uh, I mean math.

BTW, never realized how absolutely beautiful Silver Laced Polish chicks were, pictures do not do it justice.

What does the OEGB stand for in the Silver Duckwing? I have a Bantum? that I purchased that looks like that, and have been trying to i.d. for 3 weeks, looking at pics on the internet.
Would be very helpful if I knew what it was. Thanks, Stacey

Here are our two Austra-White hens who both went broody at the same time so co-sat on a clutch of 10 eggs. Eight of them went on to hatch. The father is a white-crested black Polish but so far the babies have more of their moms' markings, white with scattered black spots.
