springtime post your new chick pics

OooH, are you going to sell any Columbian eggs? Where did you get them? I have SLW but they are hatchery birds not exactly SOP but they are pretty and I love them they ar eonly 3 months. The babies in pic are splash BLRWyandottes from a BYCer's eggs that I just hatched, I have 20 eggs in bator now from Blue Laced Reds

All my chickens are from a McMurphy hatchery... I am hoping to start hatching my own next year when I see what kind of parents these will be.
I am excited about the new breeds I got this year: Wynadottes, Orps, Aconas... they are all just babies still (5 weeks).

MAybe once I am successful at hatching my own, I will start breeding a certain breed. I was thinking the Buff Orps because I know I have a Roo but then thinking about it last night, I realized they are all probably siblings since they came from the same hatchery. I will have to do my homework on breeding this next year before I commit to anything more. If I end up w/ a broody Columbian, I will probably seek out a Roo from a breeder to have those eggs or babies available.

Very cool, thanks!
I think your the closet person I've come across on BYC... nice to know there are some chickens at the lakes lol.

They aren't quite cute little babies anymore, but here are some pics of the Columbians: (5 weeks old)

The Columbian Wynadotte is on the right, the chick on the left is a Light Brahma roo:

Cute mutt chick - last one to hatch from 7 eggs my broodie was sitting on - the only one with a name so far - Chipmunk!

he's a Dark Brahma (father) and New Hampshire mix. he has feathered legs - extra cute!
