Sprout failure

I bought a set up at Amazon and it has a carrier on legs and 4trays it works great. Just sprouted mung bean and wheat for them. I thought the wheat grass was long so I cut them up before giving it to them

I know there is some concern about feeding long blades of grass to the chickens because it might lead to an impacted crop. I feed my chickens grass clippings from the mower all summer long and have not had a problem. When it comes to my winter fodder, the barley grass blades can get 6 to 8 inches long, but there is a solid root mass holding it together. So, the chickens bite off bits of the grass till they get down to the root mat. I have never had a problem feeding my chickens long barley grass in the winter because I think the root mat prevents them from free eating long blades of grass.
