Sprouting vs fermenting feed

As a supplement I am not sure how much should be fed out. I know treats are not supposed to be more than 10% of their daily intake.

I wonder though, if they are free ranging, I have no control over what they take in. If they are mowing my garden down

are the zucchini, strawberries, tomatoes, broccoli and other items they get a hold of considered treats? I have been working on a fence though....

No, your garden is not considered treats by the chickens. It may seem like it to you, but if they were free ranging they would be eating all kinds of green, leaves, and sprouts. Whatever they could find. So you may want to get the fence up before they consume the garden. Have a great day.

Ok, so I can still offer say meal worms in the evening without worrying about upsetting their nutritional balance is what I am gathering.

Got the fence up, and there is still some growing season left thankfully!
