spur development

All chicks have spur nubs. And yes, hens can develp spurs. I had a speckled Sussex with 2 1/2 inch wicked sharp spurs.

My year old rooster has just little nubs, maybe 1/3 of an inch, where his future spurs will be.

At our county fair an exhibitor's mom insisted that a bird was a blue wheaten splash. No, it could not be a blue wheaten or a splash wheaten. It was very definitely a blue wheaten splash. Because it throws both colours of chicks

I mean, htere are TIMES when it is reasonable, but other times, not so.
