Spur, Oak, and Snow- A Turkey Roleplay

Pics
(He is so amusing!)(Reminds me of Gaston, from Beauty and The Beast!)
"Come on Copper!" Kaede exclaimed, of course he was older and bigger, so he was able to catch up quicker.
(Have you heard the Gaston song from the 2017 movie?)
(I think so)
(My d’Anvers cockerels would disagree. Greased lightning. XD. )

(Slate, Kaede, and Copper are going to the burned shed to see if there’s anything left. They left Noodles with Shiru, a Royal Palm hen. Read the last three pages and you should be good.)
The devastation was obvious the moment the group left the trees. Honestly, they didn’t have to run any further to see it.
The chicken shed was gone, a rectangular ashen stain on the snow. The house was gone, looking much the same. The turkey shed was gone, except for the metal roof, just a rectangle behind the withered row of fence.
Only three sides of Slate’s beloved fence remained, standing like forlorn sentinels, guarding nothing.

Slate began to fly the rest of the way, flapping to the top of the fence like a mourning dove. For he was indeed mourning. Mourning the life he had left behind. Staring at the ash mixed with snow, watching his hopes blow away in a gentle breeze.
(That animation :lau)

Copper tried to fly ahead of the other turkeys, but they had a head start. When he finally caught up, they put on a burst of speed and sailed off of the old fence.

Copper, perched on the fence, took a moment to pause and stare at the ruins that had formerly been his home.

After a few more moments, Copper resumed his chase, once again catching up with Kaede and Slate. He trotted up to the two with a stern expression on his wrinkled face.

“I need to take the lead.” Copper huffed with what he thought was great authority. “I’m the highest ranked here.” He stepped forward to stare carefully at a scorched plank at his feet.

“You,” Copper turned to Slate, “go over to the chicken coop.”
Copper then looked over to Kaede. “You will get a close look at our once-roost.” He said, gesturing to the nearest pile of rubble.
“I will remain on lookout.” Copper continued with a superior flutter of his wings. Satisfied with his great leadership, he marched back to the fence and proceeded to perch on a high post, staring expectantly at the younger turkeys.

Hopefully they wouldn’t realize that Copper, their ever-so-wise leader, didn’t even know their names.

(I listen to that song all the time.)
Slate nodded obediently. With a hop, skip, and a jump he was at the chicken coop. As he scratched through the wreckage, he quickly realized the fruitlessness of his efforts. There was nothing but a rectangle of ashes, burnt boards, and twisted wire. With every kick, he grew more depressed. "There is nothing," he said quietly.

(Oak flock)

Thorn opened her eyes. The snow was an unwelcome sight. Though she knew it had been coming, she still wished it would’ve at least snowed less.

Thorn stood up and looked down at where some of the flock had already started to gather. More were flying out of the trees as they woke up. She ruffled her feathers to get rid of any stray flakes. Satisfied, she flapped her powerful wings and sailed to the ground, landing as gracefully as a full grown turkey could among the snow. She brought a foot out of the snow carefully, measuring its depth.

A squeal of delight emerged behind Thorn. Whoever had kept Willow warm through the night had long lost her now. Willow wandered off. Additionally, she suffered the affliction many turkeys had. Extreme spaciness. She hopped through the snow (5 cm deep, so really low) and danced in the falling flakes.
"Thorn!" she exclaimed. "What is this white stuff? It's amazing! But..." she shivered, finally noticing how cold and wet she was "Brrr! So cold!"

(What are things like in domestic?)
(Bessy is looking for interaction, Acorn is there so she could be interacted with but I'm not that interested in that. Shiru and Noodles are interacting sort of. Slate, Kaede, and Copper are investigating the burn site. Hoppy is just vibing. Apparently the harsh reality of the fire has only hit about three birds so far.)

Thorn looked down at the young poult. “Willow, be careful.” She said quietly, “You could fall into a hole.” Thorn carefully stepped over, showing Willow how to check the snow first before putting her full weight into it. “Though it’s luckily not that deep today.” Thorn mused.
“It’s snow.” She finally added.
Hoppy is just vibing.
(That is an entirely accurate description :lau)
