Squirrels!! Anyone else have problems?

Mix cayenne pepper with the feed, 3tblsp per gal of feed ..good for the chickens and the rest of the critters out there hate it and will no longer eat the food. I found a cheap supply source as a pound id under $4 WWW.sfherb.com their min order is something like $30 but they carry so many things and they are a wholesale co. I have used them for years

Love squirrels so I just consider them part of the family here. If they eat some seed and feed, I just do not fret about it. I hand feed them peanuts sometimes. They don't hurt my pets, so they are okay by me (yes, they do sometimes chew wires and other pesky things that make work for me, but I just can't find it within me to be mad at them - what makes me mad is irresponsible people letting their lethal dogs run loose). I have seen squirrels commit incredible acts of heroism to save their babies in trouble and I have seen them play and hug and in general, be endearing. This past winter they did move into the outbuilding within which my coop resides and admittedly made quite a mess that I am still cleaning up (stole a bunch of paper towels and made a nest behind a wall) but they a sure did entertain the chickens in boring bad freezing weather when they were stuck inside.

I am hating my squirrles I have beed chasing them off all month. I have no desire to feed them expensive organic feed so I think the next step will be a supper soaker and if that does not work a BB gun.

they are cute though and I have one all black one with a white tipped tail, never seen one like that before. here we have gray and black but I never saw a mixed one until now, it sure is neat looking.

I really don't like ground squirrels...we live on a hill and they are constantly eroding our hillside/ killing my plants/ eating my garden/ eating chicken's and duck's food... ahhhahh! Plus, they can carry disease that I don't want anywhere near my birds. Personally, we use bb guns or bait stations. We don't really have much choice but to get rid of them because, for us, they can be dangerous, causing landslides LOL, and it really hurts when you sprain your ankle in one of their holes. They are cute but they're evil little critters too lol... Good luck.

Our city is full of squirrels. I wonder if we can kill and eat them. They're dead on the road all the time.
