I agree with @sylviethecochin . Sorry if I came off kinda rude there... didn't mean to be. But squirrels shouldn't kill chickens.

Not at all ... didn't sound rude to me ... course I'm not easily offended & being Texan have pretty thick skin

Squirrels are not a meat eater at all, they eat nuts, grains, and seeds. If ya saw them coming out of your coop, then it was stealing pellets or grain....they will eat fruit, too.

I’m pretty sure squirrels are not as picky as we think. One had no problem stealing a plastic egg and eating its (candy) contents last Easter.

I've had squirrels hide my roll-on horse insect repellent this spring. I thought a person had stolen my stash of fly repellent until I found the bottles hidden in leaves late this summer. I couldn't believe it!
