St. John's Wort

Well, whatever tumeric is, Oscarita is doing A LOT better.

the curcumin/bioperine is the best. The bioperine makes the curcurmin (tumeric) absorb better as previously posted.

Doc Peter Brown told me when I asked him, to give my silkie 2 capsules of the curcumin/bioperine 3x a day for best results. That's A LOT! but if whatever you are doing is working, keep it up. I believe curcumin is an extract from tumeric. I have the capsules and also tumeric liquid.

Hello! I have a bad feeling my 10mo silkie hen has Mareks, and I am hoping to try this remedy to see if it will help, anything at this point! So, I have been reading the back of this bottle of St. Johns Wart, it says "extract" (Hypericum perforatum)(aerial)(standardized to contain 0.3% Hypericum, 0.9mg). So my question is, is this form okay to use on my hen? Or would it be better for me to buy the pure hypericum? I am hoping I can use this, and begin treatement asap. Thanks for any advice!:)

Oscarita is doing awful. She lays on her belly and keeps her legs sprawled out behind her, but I don't think she's in any pain. I am now going to treat her with Black walnut whole liquid. I had another rooster that was healed from that. I'll let you guys know how it works soon!

Quote: Not sure what the 'aerial' stands for, and it does sound like a rather low dose, but maybe it'll work. Pure St John's Wort would need to be used in pretty small amounts I'd guess as it's very high in copper. Standardized can mean that the quality is low and poor but that depends on brand a lot. You can always try. Best wishes.
Quote: Will be keen to hear the results. I guess it might work as it's used successfully against cancer and Marek's would be symptomatically rather akin.

Best wishes.

Pretty sure my hen has Mareks. I started the hypericum last night, and gave her second does this morning. She wasn't able to walk at all, and her feet would stick out straight in front of her. Since her second does, she stood up on her feet for a few minutes, and is laying down normal, and is able to move herself around a little now. I had been feeding and giving her water by hand, she would struggle to do it, so I helped her. Today. she is eating and drinking on her own. She has been her normal cheery self since this all started happening, she just couldn't walk. So, to the person who posted this, I can't thank you enough for this remedy! She is a part of the family, and I am so happy this is helping her!

Maybe horses are different but if you keep a horse on black walnut shavings, they will founder, which is when to bone in their hoof detaches from the shell and can pierce the bottom of the hoof.
