Bee, how did your bator setup work? Did your panels hold up to all the chicks flopping around? What are those panels made of? Looks like something from the craft store.
Well, for the most part it worked. The first to hatch, dark fuzzy butt decided to climb on the other eggs, and flutter, fall, tumble, hop into each of the other sections. I would move it back, and find it curled up in another section later. I did move the lone egg chick in with the white rocks (dark chick also).
Made from plastic canvas. I thought it would bleach well and could be used again. I think they might need to be a little higher if I really need to keep chicks from hopping over and I need to have one across the bottom to join it to make more of a square. I left that one off, so they did push, bunch up a bit till moved to the brooder. I didn't want all that hatched by Friday evening to mess with the two olive eggs to still hatch with all their activity.
I will be using the plastic canvas again.
