St. Patty's Day Green Egg Hatchalong, Set 2/25

thanks for the pics i know what they look like(except for the cosco grape one you showed me) but how do those fit in an incubater?

Can you see viens on day 4 normally?
A lot of it depends on how dark your eggs are, and how good your candler is, but I can usually see veins in most of the eggs by day 4. By day 7 it's much easier, and by day 10 I'm confident enough to pull clear eggs out of the hatch. The one I candled last night was a very pale green egg.

Here's a thread with some great candling pics. You can see what to expect on different days. Of course, these eggs are white, so it's easier to see.

Okay. All this talk of candling made me curious. I am on day 5. I candled 21/48 eggs. I think all but two or three have development. Hard to tell on the Marans and OE.

That is great :)

I hope I didn't kill mine with high temps. It looks like i have it all worked out now. I know there are several that are developing and I'm ok with that. I might have to sell these anyway. My husband thinks it is to early and cold to brood chicks.

I did get my ecoglow brooder today. Now I have to learn how to use it. I wanted something that isn't a fire hazard to use inside.

Gah, my hen kicked one of the eggs out of the nest. I don't know how long it was on the floor before I found it, but I hope it's ok! Can't wait to candle them on Monday!
