St. Patty's Day Green Egg Hatchalong, Set 2/25

I switched all our vein eggs to one bator, and the ones to recheck in the other. What day should I recheck the eggs, day 10 or wait til next Sat?

If it were me, I'd wait till Saturday. At that point the difference between blood rings and the developing eggs should be really obvious. That's a good idea to separate them. Whenever I have questionable eggs in the bator, I always give it a sniff each day at the vent to check for eggs that have gone bad. You'll know immediately if one has gone bad. It's the worst smell in the world.

I'll check my eggs Friday or Saturday.. I am horrible about candling. It so hard to see tho them. I think I set some leghorns too I can see them easy. I usually don't worry about it tho.
I need to count what I have in there . Lost my list... I don't know how many I sat.

Looks like everyone's doing well!! I haven't candled yet. We hatched over the weekend and got 8 OEs!! ~along with other cuties, here's some eye candy...

I haven't candled yet, but my broody pushed the same egg out of the nest so I took it from her. I figure mama knows best! I'm going to candle tomorrow night when it isn't 25 degrees and windy. Can't wait!

Well, today is Day 10 and I still haven't culled any of my original 48. Two of the four people I got eggs from suggested I wait until Day 14 (Saturday) to cull. One had the experience of culling what she thought was a blood ring, but was actually a live embryo. So I'm sitting on my hands... waiting... waiting. Temps and humidity are chugging along right where I want them to be. What's up with everyone else? :)

No, I really want to. But since I am resolved to not cull any it wouldn't really serve any purpose other than to mess with them more. So, I am waiting for Saturday. Will weigh and candle, and make decisions about what to cull at that point.
