St. Patty's Day Green Egg Hatchalong, Set 2/25

I have chirping from one egg and rockin' from others!!!!! This my first hatch and it's done with shipped eggs. :)

I got my eggs from the same person you did, but I didn't set them right away. Our chicks have the same hatch day, even! Unfortunately, my incubator fan is so freakin' loud that I couldn't hear any chirping, and mine went into lockdown in cartons, so they can't rock, either. Me being the curious worrywart that I am, I did the unforgivable... I opened the bator and did a quick flashlight candle without moving them.
I have internal pips!! So, they are in lockdown for reals, now. :D

Not quite sure how I'm going to get to sleep, knowing all this good stuff is happening in my living room.

Redriver, I'm sleeping in my guest room with them. :). I hope we both have good hatches!!!!

Thanks! You too. Somehow even though I've been counting down the days I'm still not ready. Need to run to the feed store on my lunch break and get shavings and a water dish. Also need to make a hardware cloth lid for the brooder so my cat can't have any chickie snacks. Ahhh! Why did I keep thinking I still had plenty of time? :p

I have one pip this morning in an olive egg! And there's a lot of chirping coming from the other eggs.

I'm also really curious about what color egg this Olive Egger chick will lay. My roo is an EE, and the hen is already laying an olive egg. So what do you get when you put green over olive? I might never find out. I'm planning to sell all these chicks.

I need to go set up the brooder. The Brinsea gets crowded really fast.

One chick hatched!

Crud, I have to go get chick feed too. I wonder if I can make it out of the feed store without buying any chicks... Probably not...

You can look at it this way, New chicks from the store will be about the same age as the ones you hatch and you can brood them together. It would be a good time to get new chicks :)

That's what I told my husband before he left for the weekend too.

I'll just slip them under the broodie in the middle of the night.
