Hi Staffy owners!
We are getting a female English Staffy or English cross American Staffy in the near future. She will be our second dog, as Maverick the eighteen year old Kelpie cross German Shepherd got put Down recently. She will also be an outside dog with a haphazardly fenced three quarters of one acre all terrain yard to play in. (With some securely penned escape artist chooks to associate with, no doubt filling her head with all sorts of bad ideas) Also we have a small goldfish pond out the front, and some semi secure guinea pigs in the yard with her too. Do you think she will be happy? Me and my 4 younger siblings are all homeschooled, so for five to six days of the week there is generally at least one or two people home at all times to keep an one on her.
Are there any problems with this system?
Thanks,
Nat.

Hey, staffs are great dogs. Based off what you have said I would think the dog would be happy. Of course, each dog have their own personality and quirks. While my dog doesn't care for the chickens, ducks, and rabbits others may chase and try to play or eat them. With some patience and proper training, however, that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Roo. Female Staffy. Named because she hops everywhere like a kangaroo. She is six weeks old today and we got her on Wednesday! She is really cute!

I love bull breeds.

I successfully bred and trained a few Pit Bull Terriers as service dogs, and one of my dogs won a first place blue ribbon, against a Standard Poodle, a Malinois, and another popular "obedience dog" (I forget which breed at the moment), at an AKC class...

I often get referred for people who's dogs won't pass the Canine Good Citizen test, which is usually bull/terrier breeds...

They're so easy to train, because they have very high prey drive!

You can get them to jump through hoops for a rope or a rag, because they resemble dead guinea pigs and other small animals...

I bred 9 generations of Terriers, and my dogs were very popular; but I never want another terrier again!

Terriers are the smartest dogs on earth! Bull terrier mixes were all bred for survival of the fittest, and smartest dogs; and any dogs that couldn't adapt to fighting dogs, lions, bears, or bulls, they died a long time ago.

Border Collies with a reputation of being the smartest dogs, are just more obedient...

Good luck keeping small animals and chickens in semi-secure enclosures...

My bull and terrier mxes kept chewing through steel to kill each other.
