She's networking and working at it. She wants modeling work and you have to network and make contacts if you want to work.

One of those people she has friended is going to some day write to her to tell her about an audition and she will get the job. That's how it works.

If you have a job where you go every day and receive your salary, you don't understand how hard you have to network if you are independently employed, especially in a field where there is very little paying work. Successful investors work it that hard, too.

Work doesn't just come to you while you sit home quietly and politely when no one even knows you are there or wanting work.

By the way, that's how you find a job when you are unemployed, too. You tell everyone you meet that you are looking for work. One of those people is going to know where there is a job opening.
