I have gelded Stallions later than 5 years old. I know my vet had no problems doing my stallion of 5 years old. The reason I did it was because my circumstances were changing and I had to keep him in with other geldings and didnt want problems in the pasture, now that he is older I regret though, he has turned out better than his sire, would have used him for breeding...oh well live and learn.
