**STANDARD Cochin Thread for Posting Pics and Discussing Them**

We love our Cochins! We have 4 adults, that are about a year old and six young ones that are a little over 4 months that we are trying to integrate with the adults. They don't roost together yet but the adults finally let them forage around the yard with them. This took a few weeks. We also have 11 babies that are 5 weeks and two that are 2 weeks old I'll have to get some pics of. All are Cochins of course.

I just got my first standard Cochin Rooster.. he is just 7 weeks, his father was absolutely gorgeous so I got one of his sons that was marked the most like dad.. he has a gold head and wht and barred back and tail feathers.. I would love to know if there is anyone in SC, NC, GA area that has Gold standard girls.. I would like to keep them in the gold color range and I am so taken by them, that I want to get him 3 or 4 girls..
,
I would also LOVE to hear more about this breed. so many people have the bantams,, but I really like big birds.. and want to learn more about this breed.. .. I plan on giving him to my mom when he is an adult.. right now we are fighting field rat problem at her house.. I want him to be big enough not only to fend for himself and his girls but kill a rat if need be.. by his father I do not see that this is going to be a problem.

blessed be )O(
