Where do I find a book about chickens standard of breed? What is the name? I've tried to google but I am confused if there is such a publication or is standard of breed different from club to club? I am looking to help my kids show chickens in 4H for the first time. Thanks in advance for any help.

The American Poultry Association (APA) publishes a book titled "The APA Standard of Perfection". This includes breed standards for any breed of chicken that is recognized by the APA. The new, 2010 color version will be available from the APA in February of this year. You may still be able to buy a copy of the old version (2001 I think). Just search "APA Standard of Perfection" and you will find it.

and....the "American Bantam Association" has their own standard describing the hundreds of Bantam chicken breeds/varieties and Bantam Ducks..... both standards will help you.
