AmerIcana is what some hatcheries call their Easter Eggers.

Ameraucana is what I think you are thinking of.


Notice the spellings.

Real Ameraucana only come in certain colors.

I don't know if he is 'real' because I don't know this breed. Sorry.
I would guess he is an EE.

Easter Eggers or Americanas (as some hatcheries call them) have many colors in their feathers and have different colored feet and shanks. Can lay a variety of colored eggs, thus the Easter Egger name. A mixed breed, but excellent chickens.

Ameraucanas, a pure breed, come in black, blue, and splash, I believe, with slate colored feet and shanks. Once again I believe they typically lay only beautiful blue eggs. They are excellent birds too.

Yeah basically they're just a mix. They aren't a true breed technically.

See... Think my parents got them at Plourdes in Caribou Maine. I have the original table they came with too. It's tile and I'm shocked it's survived over 30 years

Some of these ones are coming apart, but I'm going to fix them eventually. I was thinking about sanding them down and redoing them... I just don't have time right now.
