The character interaction was along the lines of Jim & Spock. The special effects were good, but not great. They also remade the entire Star Trek universe by changing the time line. Come to think of it the movie sucked. I better watch it a few more times to be sure.

I've got high expectations of the next one.

I agree PC 110%. I did enjoy the movie once I was able to mentally accept the fact that it wasnt going to REALLY tie into the Star Trek Timeline but it took me the first half of the movie to accept the fact that it was "different". VERY good as a standalone tho.
