Stargazing Day Old Chick

Unfortunately, my little one passed away finally. We tried vitamins and nutri-drench, hand feeding. For her, she may have been injured in travel rather than a deficiency I guess. Also, because I didn't quite know what was wrong or what to do for about a half day, I simply may have lost precious time.

Great to hear you had success with yours though! It does seem like an important ailment ot know about given that when it is caused by vitamin deficiency it is so easily rectified.

I'm really sorry that she didn't make it. Hopefully, the others are all healthy and will thrive.

I'm in the process of treating our little one. It was the first to hatch, and it was in the incubator for about 4 hours before I looked back and realized it was constanly looking straight up and was doing backflips. I took it out after making sure the other eggs haven't piped and put it in the Brooder with 3 day old chicks. They pecked on her a little at first but started to accept it after a while. We had some all-purpose vitamins for chickens and started the chick on that, we will be treating it with Thiamine and Polyviso in a short while, so I'm hoping it pulls through. It's getting better here and there, it actually moves around the Brooder well, but it's head still goes back if it's not leaning forward. Here is our little baby.
