Starlight Green Egger

Thank you so much!! I have been looking for people posting the growth of theirs, but it is hard to find! It seems like they have a faster growing comb and wattle than some breeds.
Here’s some pics of mine. About 14weeks old.

I got two last year, I've found them to be more standoffish, active, very alert and hard to catch, lay lighter minty green eggs. I had an olive egger project this year, so I looked into the background of the Starlight green egger. Cross of a Prairie Bluebell egger and a "brown egg layer"(I am thinking a RIR?). Then I looked up the Prairie bluebell egger, which I discovered is a cross of araucana and white leghorn.

4/18/2019, Sandstone, Starlight Green Egger #1. Day I got her. Loved the wing pattern.

So I crossed them with a Penedesenca rooster:

And here is the reason why I looked more into the SGE mix:
4/10/2020 "Three Spot" Creamy yellow with three black spots. Paprika's chick.
But wait, there's more....

4/26/2020 "Three Spot". I noticed something really interesting about him, look at the comb, that is more like a buttercup comb in the back. Neither Penedesenca had combs like that when they were chicks, the carnation in the back developed later, and not so much in the roo (mine are hatchery stock)

Fast forward:
6.27.2020 "Three Spot", 11 weeks 2 days. Whaaat? He got a crest! and he's got legs that go up to there!

White Leghorn showing I think.

I was NOT expecting a crest and that comb from the cross, I am guessing there might be Crested Cream Legbar in the SGE mix. Possibly they used that instead of aruacana once? It does not explain the comb, unless I am missing something. I have some polish X olive egger that have this kind of comb, too.
Three Spot is a still a nice boy, friendly, more so than his mother. Carrot Cake is starting to show some 'tude, I'd had to chase and catch him one day and He Didn't Like It, so now he Angles His Back at me, and makes noises.

I had the same issue! When we bought them I searched all over the web looking for information and couldn't find any. Hope our progress is helpful!

She looks very similar to our Marigold. I was thankful I ended up with the light one and the dark one so I could see how they develop differently.
I also got two at the feed store but am unsure which other one in my flock will lay the green eggs. I am thinking it’s this one who is also a starlight green? Did you get one with the squirrel pattern?

Thats so funny! Thank you for sharing your genetics research! We cant have any roos, but I think it would be so neat to breed and see how the offspring change with different breeds. It seems like most of the starlights (based on google images and feedback) that most of them display the red and white patterning. I included the praire bluebell image from hoover earlier in the comments. I ended up with the darker color and the lighter color chicks that displayed the two different bluebell colorings. I wonder if it is possible (depending on the brown egg layer used) to get the gray coloration in a starlight.

Interesting finding, our cinnamon queens are cross between RIR and a SLW... they both have red feathers primarily, but the fluffy underlayer is gray from their momma. And one of them most have got more genetics from her momma bc she got the black lacing and rose comb whereas the other one didnt.

Its all so interesting!

My starlight green egger is very friendly and is one if the only ones in my flock who will jump up in my lap. She’s the first one to run over and say hello.
I like her ombre coloring with a white butt and red head. Very pretty! Our red and white one is not as standoff as some others, she is moderately friendly. Our darker one however, will walk up to you and want your attention.
