I have a mystery chicken that could be a SGE. She was in the ISA Brown bin at the store, 11(ish) weeks old now.

The thing that threw me off at first was that any source that lists comb type says SGE have pea combs, but looking through the forums here, a lot of them seem to have single combs like my Sybil.

She's likely some type of ISA Red, but maybe I'll be surprised with a green egg in the next couple months!

Here's my thread about her with pics of her growth over the weeks in the breed and gender forum

My SGE's also have single combs. Two of mine look very similar to yours. Pretty markings no matter her breed/mix.

So, I have 6 chicks with 2 being Starlight green eggers. They have been a joy and a pain in the butt at the same time. When they were younger, the yellow/brownish-red one was much more loveable. She also had VERY white wings and feathers coming in. We named her Angel. The other is more red and brown, named Henrietta, aka Henri for short.

She has NEVER liked being grabbed to be picked up. She prefers if you put your hand under her belly and gently push towards her legs and lift up l. She will stop onto your hand herself.

At 4 weeks 4 days, here is there progression.

I just got 6 pullets today. They are 6 days old. I will post some pics of mine and how they progress. I got them for the green addition to my eggs. Thank you for the pics. Ive been struggling to find pics chicks/adults also. What do your chicks look like now, almost 2 years since you wrote this. How are they, personality wise?

I have a SGE that I bought from TSC, but she's almost all red and I think she's the one laying a rosey brown egg. I read that they're not supposed to get broody, but mine seems to have gotten that way. But I also think she's low on the pecking order and hides in the nesting box to keep from being picked on.

Does anyone have a starlight green egger rooster? The two sexed chicks that I bought ended up both being male. The one that we kept is almost 17 weeks old. He is very pretty and is fine with me. However he has jumped with legs up at our 4.5 year old son only while in the pen. So he is not allowed in there alone anymore. However today Pluto jumped at the fence to try and get at our son. Does anyone have a cockerel who ended up being pretty mean? I just cannot find out anything about the breed, so not sure what to really expect with him at all.
I know this is an older post but I just got rid of my 2.5 year old SGE rooster because he attacked me a lot and I didn't want to expose my toddler to an aggressive rooster. I have 4 of his kids to replace him with.
