Making some progress. This is tree fort building at it's finest. There is no 16" on center here just get it done.
I think if I were building this from scratch it would have been done long ago. Trying to "make" things work takes a lot of time. Also things are not even close to plumb which takes longer to make "look" right. It also has not been as cheap as I thought it would be. I used a ton of recycled wood and shingles but needed the OSB for inside and the siding for the outside. Probably once I get the wire and such for the run I will be pushing $200 or more. Someday someone will tear this thing down and wonder what the heck I was thinking when I built it.
Hopefully we will be pulling eggs out of this door in 4-5 months.
Siding is done interior work except the floor is done. Next paint, build the windows and the doors, then trim everything in and build the run. Chicks turn 4 weeks on Monday time is going by too fast.
More progress. Got most of the painting done today inside and out.
Made these windows today. The glass is tinted. I wanted clear but I had the tinted so the price was right. Once I put up the rest of the trim it will be the same color as the window trim. They are the same size but they don't look it in the picture.
Left to do (seems like a lot):
Mount the doors and windows.
Linoleum flooring.
Mount the nest boxes and roost.
Build the run.
Paint and apply trim and soffit vents.
