Are you moving this coop when it's done?

A couple of other questions;
How big is the coop?
How big is the run?
How many hens are you putting in there?
Are you working from plans or off the top of your head?
(If so, where did you get the idea?)
And, are you doing the nest boxes inside or hanging outside?

Thanks!

edited to add nest question;

The ground isnt level, so I am going to have to level it... ie. get a bunch of fill dirt!!

The coop is 6'x6' (outside dimensions) and the run is 12'x6'.

Plan is 6 hens, and maybe 2 ducks (depending on what they hatch out as!)

I have an elaborate autocad drawing that i worked up, prior to getting the fancy brackets. I havent really changed anything, other than using the brackets instead of cutting the angles. the design was originally to be a tractor... (which with some heavy wheels and proper setup, it still could be) but has now evolved into stationary for us.

I have built a shed using the same design, so thats what made me think of using this roof style. As for the rest of the design, I worked in what made sense, along with suggestions from here.

I had orignally planned to do the nest boxes on the outside, now I am not sure...

Hope this helps...

Very nice looking coop!!!
THANX RICH

People say I'm getting crankier as I get older. That's not it. I just find I enjoy annoying people a lot more now. Especially younger people!!!

Geez, what a nice coop. Ours looks nothing like that, it's in our shed. We're still patting ourselves on the back because we put up a few 2 x 4s and chicken wire. We even figured out how to make a door with hinges AND a handle!
