We're in the same boat. Although, i never found blood in stool. i had a duck go lame yesterday, took her to the vet and they diagnosed coccidiosis. Also took fecal from one chicken, which was positive, too.
All my ducks will be treated with albon, specific amounts based on weight, in syringe every day for 7 days. i just bought Corid to treat the water in all my chicken pens. Mine is a 9.6% solution, and i still need to figure it out. But a well respected member here has posted that the 20% water soluble powder should be dosed at 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water for five days. Mix it up fresh each day. He said there is no withdrawal period on the eggs for Corid.
i read somewhere that you should give your birds Vitamin A & K when treating, but unable to find doses for that, i looked both vitamins up on the internet. They are abundant in greens like kale, collards, romaine. So it seems the safest thing would be to make sure your birds have lots of dark leafy greens as they go through treatment. i also read to use a probiotic after finishing treatment to help build back up the good flora in the intestines. i found some at my local feed store.
On disinfecting the ground, i don't have an answer. i read that the cocci can be killed with extreme heat or cold, which won't work on a yard. So, my plan is to clean out the coops good, maybe turn over the dirt in the pens. i might buy some organic garden soil to mix in and dilute the dirt that i have.
Good luck and let me know how things go. i'll post again if i find any new information.
