The first year or two it is basically building your pens & coops and building your flock. So it's costly. Once you get past that stage yes you can. Selling the eggs pays for the feed. So once your established it's profitable as long as you breed what people want.

Lavender Araucana? You sure you don't mean Lavender Ameraucana? As far I know, there aren't Lavender Araucana in the U.S.
Please research breed standards thoroughly and be diligent about selecting your breeding stock.
