Starting a hatch September 21....hatch along?

What happens is you buy a few eggs and only get one or two chicks so you buy tons of eggs and 95% of them hatch!

This is so true- - - - I was given eggs, didn't really care about as they were barnyard mutts, stuck them under my broody & all hatched. I received shipped eggs and only half hatched.
Now I bought some locally but since they are mostly Welsummer and Maran I can't candle because they are so dark. I guess I will just have to wait. I need to learn how to figure this out by weight but I am lost on this method.

Need to ask the experts, as it doesn't seem to look good to me. I am on Day 7.
my Ancona egg-

my Delaware egg-

The Delaware seems a little better but I really don't know for sure. The Ancona doesn't look like any pictures I have seen.
I hate to discard them if they are doing well. I will google for more pics but I wanted to know what you all think.
Thanks.

I can't quite tell from the pictures, but they both look a bit clear. I would mark them in some way so that you know which ones they are and incubate them for another 3 days, usually it's pretty obvious which ones are developing by day 10.

When ever in doubt, leave them in (unless of course they smell or are weeping).

I'm on day 12 and excited, except the cold has finally come and it's messy up the tempatures. Here in Minnesota, it was 85 degrees on wednesday, and on thursday it was 40. I'm not even kidding about these tempaures, I believe we got our first frost already. But going from 85 to 40 was a killer, my chicks were chirping and hudding under the heat lamp because their brooder was 80 degrees at the hottest spot and the incubator dropped to 97 for a full day, and I'm still trying to raise it. Minnesota winter's here we come. I better order that last batch of hachting eggs soon!

They are adorable! I can't believe you had so many hatch a day early! I almost always have mine hatch at least half a day late. I thinned out my incubator yesterday. I ended up tossing 5 leghorn eggs that I know are no good (a couple more I wasn't 100% sure on, so, I left them) and one of my brown eggs (once again, a couple more I wasn't 100% sure on, but, better safe than sorry). I tossed all 4 of my "experimental" grocery store eggs. Not one of them even started to develop, so, I'm assuming that they must have reached freezing before I got them (thus killing any chance of hatching them). I'm so excited! My little guys (other than the six I put in from my flock a week later) are due a week from today! I'm really hoping I get some adorable fuzzy butts. My sister is moving and she wants to start a flock once they get their own place set up in the country. I told her that I'd give her some from my hatch (either this hatch or one in the spring). Yeah for spreading the chicken love!
