"Starting a new Thread" feedback

I couldn't figure out how to start a new thread. I even went and read the tutorial, which says to use the menu in the upper left corner. Finally stumbled on it in the UPPER RIGHT CORNER, hidden behind the envelope/arrow icon most sites and devices use to indicate that you want to send something. Ugh, very confusing.
