We just purchased close to 3 acres and are researching raising some ducks on a small scale for meat and eggs. I was thinking about having about 35 ducks and then cull about 32 once mature and use the others for eggs after. And then continue to repeat that. I was looking at duckaponics and also growing your own feed. I was curious to know if you can or freeze dehydrate fodder to use for later ? And am i correct about the number of ducks i can have within our space or is too small. im interested in musckovy ducks, my husband would like a couple of peking just to slaughter for ther meat and fat since he a chef and all

I think you could get many answers from Storey's Guide to Raising Ducks.

They do need some space, and fresh bathing-swimming water.

You can dehydrate some greens for them, to add to their food. Mother Earth News, and Harvey Ussery's book as well as Joybilee Farm's web site all have information on growing and mixing your own feed.

Alright I have seen and saved some articles form mother earth news but I havent seen that one yet.
