ok so my birds are about 2 1/2 years old and im in need of more eggs and i have also started to hatch eggs in my incubator but would like to start breeding pure bred chickens so i will get more money on chicks but anyways what is a profitable breed and also what do i do with my other chickens that are getting older

well if you have limited space, you have to butcher the older girls, or give them away.

As to the breed, I would ask locally what people want, and then you won't have to ship them.

I myself, have always done hatchery birds, but this year took some birthday money and have some ordered to come the first week in June. They are suppose to be a little higher quality birds. I got them from the Sandhills Preservation. I got Delawares. I have never thought about selling chicks..... but maybe I will. We will have to see how this goes. I have never had a Delaware before, but I have heard good things, and that they are a true American Breed.
